Book Posts

Alongside the math are posts on particular poems–my favorite genre–and other books. Working among mathematicians who have embraced the Internet as a way to transmit knowledge and start conversation, it’s always strange to me when I don’t find similarly animated forums for the discussion of music or English. So I’ve decided to post my humanities notes online alongside my math notes.

Non-math posts are categorized under “Books.”

Currently Reading:

Thomas Hardy, Jude the Obscure.

Toni Morrison, Beloved.

Upcoming Posts (Eventually):

Oliver Sacks, “The Man who Mistook his Wife for a Hat” and “A Leg to Stand on.”

Ramachandran, various.

The Philosophical Breakfast Club.

Joan Roughgarten, Evolution’s Rainbow.

Mann, The Magic Mountain.

Henri, The Art Spirit; alongside Potok, My Name is Asher Lev.
